MM57163BR2

MM57163BR2 Replacement module shown in a Max2 (481) Credit Unit

The MM57163BR2 is a reverse-engineered, drop-in replacement for the original MM57163N display driver chip.

Originally shipped with the Rock-Ola MAX 477 series jukeboxes in 1979, the MM57163 drives vacuum fluorescent displays by processing data sent from the credit unit CPU. This display data is latched and remains visible until a new update is received, ensuring seamless operation.

Rock-Ola Techna Retrofit Display Kit

This new display board serves as a direct replacement for the Rock-Ola 53170 board, found in 480 Techna, 476 Grand Saloon II, 484, and 488 jukebox models.

With original vacuum fluorescent displays prone to failure and replacement parts becoming scarce, this upgrade swaps them for LED displays, offering a reliable, long-lasting solution. Designed for seamless compatibility, the new board can still operate with the original display driver IC (MM57163N) located in the Profit Setter Module.

In most cases, the MM57163N display driver chip is also faulty, which is why a replacement is included in the kit. For those who only need the chip, the MM57163N replacement is also available separately.
